Jaguar Hybrid: What are the Chances?
When Jaguar unveiled the C-X75 hybrid concept car, Jag enthusiasts were hoping the classic automaker would be rolling out some version of a hybrid drivetrain in the near future. Indeed, the company has said that it will bring a hybrid to market if it clearly sees significant demand for one. In the meantime, no hybrid. The upcoming F-Type sports car is proof that Jaguar management have not made a solid decision regarding hybrid cars yet, or else they have and are keeping it under wraps for the time being. A company spokesperson said that the concept was a way to showcase both design and technology.
Jaguar Hybrid: Video
The video below contains exclusive footage of the only non-Jag employee who has ever driven the concept hybrid C-X75, the hit of the Paris Motor Show. In fact, the celebrity who gets behind the wheel is something of a car expert himself, which helps when he gives us his take on the hot concept vehicle. Jaguar officials have actually gone on record saying that the hybrid technology in this vehicle was done purely for experimental purposes. The car’s initials stand for ‘concept-experimental,’ with the 75 denoting the company’s 75th anniversary. Concept or not, with this rare interior view of the C-X75, it is easy to see why Jaguar still makes some of the most beautiful automobiles on earth.
Jaguar Hybrid
The closest thing to a decision was Jaguar’s vehicle line director Ian Hoban saying that he would not “rule out” an eventual hybrid version of the F-Type concept car. Jaguar has a reputation for being very careful about model introductions, and this case is no exception. When their internal numbers tell them that a hybrid Jag is right, it could likely be in showrooms soon after the decision is made.
