Venturi America EV

For a mere $400,000, the star of this year’s Paris Motor Show can be yours. The Venturi America EV, with its massive 53 kWh lithium battery and a range of 200 miles-per-charge, boasts a quick-charge time of just four hours. The company has officially stated that it intends to make the car available for sale by 2014. Of all the concept cars and flashy production vehicles at the Paris event, the Venturi stand attracted some of the largest crowds of the show.

Venturi America

Venturi, which was previously known as MVS, is a French sports car manufacturer primarily known for its Venturi Atlantique, which saw production from 1984 until 2000. In 2001, MVS was sold to a buyer who moved the company to Monaco and now builds only electric sports vehicles, all in very limited numbers. So far, new owner Gildo Pastor has created four models, the Fetish, the Eclectric, the Astrolab, and the America. Just two of the company’s models have been standard electric vehicles, the Fetish and the America. Eclectric was a low-speed car that used solar panels and a wind-charger. The Astrolab featured a solar-electric powertrain, the world’s first. All of the Venturi cars are designed to be visually stunning as well as mechanically unique.
