<div><em>Jaguar has just released its most efficient model yet – the 2.2-litre diesel XF – and to prove its worth the British firm has completed an 816-mile road-trip on one tank of fuel. </em></div>
<div><em>Driven by independent testers the <a id="itxthook0" href="http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpressnews/269404/jaguar_xf_travels_816_miles_on_a_single_tank.html?utm_source=outbrain&amp;utm_medium=cpc&amp;utm_campaign=Outbrain+Audi+A6#" rel="nofollow">XF</a> traveled from Birmingham to Munich, whilst consuming just 64-litres of diesel – that makes for an average economy figure of 57mpg. By comparison, the official combined figure stands at 52.3mpg.</em></div>
<div>Remember though, as you look at the mpgs achieved; This reflects British (Imperial) gallons which are 1.2009 times more volume than the US gallon.  Not to diminish the value of the achievement, but to clarify for those not familiar with the British measurement system.</div>
<div><em>Andy Whyman, Chief Programme Engineer for the XF said: “The entire development team is very proud of what the new XF 2.2 has achieved – this not only proves the efficiency of the new model but underlines that performance and economy can be combined.”</em></div>
<div><em>Engineers have fitted the 187bhp engine with a Stop-Start system and an eight-speed automatic gearbox which helps to achieve the impressive economy figures – despite the brisk 0-62mph time of 8.5 seconds. </em></div>
<div>This should be a proud moment for Jaguar. They have had many of these moments throughout the years. I personally have had many of these moments driving there products. I have owned the 1954 XK Convertible, 1977 XJS Coupe, 1999 XK8 Coupe (which I still have), 2003 XK8 Convertible and a 2006 XK8 Convertible.  The only reason I would change to a different automaker is if I decide to try Tesla for a while.</div>
<div>I haven&#8217;t made up my mind on that one yet! Which ever way I go, I can&#8217;t loose!</div>
